Thomas & Farris Attorneys Student-Athlete of the Week: Courtney Williams

Senior Courtney Williams did her part in helping her Greenfield School girls tennis team to a 2-1 mark last week, making her this week’s Thomas & Farris Attorneys Student-Athlete of the Week.

With No. 1 singles player Hannah Ferrell out, Courtney moved up to No. 1 and won all three of her matches to improve to 12-7 on the season. In doubles, she teamed with her sister, McKenzie, and Avery Vester at No. 1 and Liza Woods at No. 2 to produce three victories as the Lady Knights topped Oakwood 9-0 and beat Freedom Christian 8-1 after losing to Rocky Mount Academy 7-2.

The daughter of Lisa and Brad Williams of Rocky Mount, Courtney has a 3.05 weighted grade point average at Greenfield, where she belongs to the Students Against Violence Everywhere (SAVE) and Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD) clubs.

She won Greenfield’s Jefferson Cup Citizenship Award as a junior.

Courtney is active at Sunset Avenue Baptist Church in Rocky Mount, volunteering her time for projects there as well as at The Brittany and numerous other programs.
