Thomas & Farris Attorneys Student-Athlete of the Week: Alex Parker

Senior Alex Parker was a vital cog in her Wilson Christian Academy varsity volleyball team’s return to the N.C. Christian School Association 2-A championship match last week, making her this week’s Thomas & Farris Attorneys Student-Athlete of the Week.

Alex, an outside hitter, totaled 14 kills, 20 digs and four aces as the defending champion Lady Chargers defeated Trinity Christian, Alamance Christian and Greenville Christian before losing to Wilmington Christian in Saturday’s championship match.

Alex was a team captain, serving as her teammates’ on-court liaison to coaches and referees. She always plays volleyball at Wilson Christian, where she is an honor-roll student.

Alex attends Shenandoah Baptist Church in Rocky Mount where she is active in the youth group and is a children’s church teacher and a member of the adult choir.

The daughter of Karen and Tim Parker of Rocky Mount, Alex plans to attend Piedmont International University in Winston-Salem and major in early childhood education.
