Thomas & Farris Attorneys Student-Athlete of the Week: Morgan Lane


Although only an eighth-grader, Morgan Lane had a career night for the Community Christian School varsity girls basketball team last week, making her this week’s Thomas & Farris Attorneys Student-Athlete of the Week.

In an 81-37 loss to defending N.C. Independent Schools Athletic Association 1-A champion Fayetteville Trinity Christian, Morgan scored a career-best 26 points, including five 3-pointers.

A straight-A student at CCS, Morgan is a member of the school’s Junior BETA Club, for which she serves as secretary, the Spelling Bee Club, Photography Club and Running Club.

She ran cross-country for the Cyclones this past season, finishing third in the NCISAA 1-A girls championship meet, and will play girls soccer and run track this spring at CCS.

The daughter of Tara and Scott Lane of Elm City, Morgan is active at Forest Hills Baptist Church in Wilson, volunteering at the Community Soup Kitchen in downtown Wilson.

She is member of the Tar River Youth Soccer Association Cyclones U16 girls team.
