Thomas & Farris Attorneys Student-Athlete of the Week: Jacob Saunders

Sophomore Jacob Saunders helped the Hunt High boys tennis team win its third straight match to start the season last week, making him this week’s Thomas & Farris Attorneys Student-Athlete of the Week.

Jacob won his No. 4 singles match and teamed with Conor Wetzel to win at No. 3 doubles as the Warriors stopped Nash Central 7-2 for their second 3-A Big East Conference win. Jacob improved to 3-0 in singles before playing doubles for the first time with Conor.

Jacob holds a weighted grade point average of 4.4 at Hunt where he is a member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Club UNIFY and the Student Booster Club.

The son of Cindy and James Saunders of Wilson, Jacob is active at First Baptist Church in Wilson where he volunteers his time for church service projects. He went on a mission trip to Washington, D.C., last summer.

He has a summer job at Carolina Tile Company.
