Thomas & Farris Attorneys Student-Athlete of the Week: Taylor Waddell


Freshman Taylor Waddell helped her Charles B. Aycock High softball team roll to three wins last week, making her this week’s Thomas & Farris Attorneys Student-Athlete of the Week.

Taylor pitched a complete game in the Lady Golden Falcons’ 8-1 victory Wednesday at South Central, striking out five in her first decision of the spring. At the plate, she batted .625 (5 for 8) with three RBIs, two runs scored and a stolen base in wins over South Central, J.H. Rose and Eastern Wayne. CBA outscored its 3-A/4-A Eastern Carolina Conference foes 42-5.

Taylor has a 3.5 grade point average at Aycock, where she is member of DECA and FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) clubs.

The daughter of Tammy and Jerry Forbis of Goldsboro and Marvin Waddell of Pikeville, Taylor is active at Stoney Creek Free Will Baptist Church in Goldsboro.

She plays for the Carolina Lookouts travel softball team and previously played for the Wayne County Hurricanes.
