Thomas & Farris Attorneys Student-Athlete of the Week: Alexis Toney

Beddingfield High junior Alexis Toney made a dazzling debut in a new sport last week, making her this week’s Thomas & Farris Attorneys Student-Athlete of the Week.

Alexis, a standout on the Lady Bruins volleyball, basketball and soccer teams, won the high jump in her first ever competition at The Wilson Times Track Classic on Monday, helping Beddingfield win the girls team title. She also finished first in the high jump Wednesday in a three-team meet against 2-A Eastern Plains Conference foes at Beddingfield.

Alexis has a 4.05 weighted grade point average at Beddingfield, she takes International Baccalaureate and honors course and was recently recognized in Wilson Education Partnership’s Academic Excellence Celebration. She is a member of the school’s chapter of Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

Alexis plays for the Blue Star Carolinas travel basketball team.

The daughter of Angela and Frank Toney of Wilson, she and her family attend St. Paul Church of Christ in Wilson.
