Thomas & Farris Student-Athlete of the Week: Tyler Amerson
Junior Tyler Amerson has gotten off to a fast start for the Beddingfield High boys cross-country team this season, making him this week’s Thomas & Farris Student-Athlete of the Week.
Tyler has won all three of the Bruins meets, posting identical winning times of 18 minutes, 55 seconds in each of his last two races — on Aug. 24 against Hunt and last Thursday against 2-A Eastern Plains Conference foes North Pitt and Greene Central.
Tyler, who also wrestles at Beddingfield, helped the Bruins win EPC titles in cross-country and track last year.
An honor-roll student at Beddingfield, Tyler is a candidate for National Honor Society this year.
He is the son of Cheryl Amerson and the late Bruce Amerson of Wilson.
