Thomas & Farris Student-Athlete of the Week: Heather Lucas
Heather Lucas was instrumental in two critical victories for the Wilson Christian varsity volleyball team last week, making her this week’s Thomas & Farris Student-Athlete of the Week.
Heather, a senior captain, totaled 36 kills, five blocks, 18 service points and seven aces as the Lady Chargers won at Wilmington Christian and Greenville Christian to seize sole possession of first place in N.C. Christian School Association 3-A East Region standings.
The daughter of Jeaneen and James Lucas of Black Creek, Heather had a 3.8 grade point average entering the school year.
Heather attends Daniels Chapel Free Will Baptist Church near Black Creek and Peace Church in Wilson.
Heather, who is a member of the N.C. Elite travel volleyball team from Wake County, hopes to continue her volleyball career at the collegiate level.
