Thomas & Farris Student-Athlete of the Week: Kenan Barnes

Junior Kenan Barnes was perfect last week on the courts for the Greenfield School girls tennis team, making her this week’s Thomas & Farris Student-Athlete of the Week.

Kenan won all six of her matches, three wins each in singles and doubles, as the Knights defeated Ridgecroft, Northeast and Faith Christian.

Kenan holds a weighted grade point average of 4.69 at Greenfield, where she is a member of Students Against Violence Everywhere, Students Against Destructive Decisions, the Science Club, National Honor Society and Student Government Association, for which she is the secretary. She also volunteers her time in community service projects and has participated in the Wilson Rose Garden art contest.

Kenan is a standout soccer player for the Knights and has played junior varsity basketball but plans on trying out for cheerleading this winter.

The daughter of Susan and Keith Barnes of Wilson, Kenan and her family attend Forest Hills Baptist Church.
