Thomas & Farris Student-Athlete of the Week: Hannah Ferrell

Greenfield sophomore Hannah Ferrell won a state championship in girls tennis last week, making her this week’s Thomas & Farris Student-Athlete of the Week.

Hannah won all four of her singles matches to claim the No. 4 flight championship in the N.C. Independent Schools Athletic Association 1-A tournament at Barton College Tennis Complex over the weekend. She finished the season with a 23-1 record.

Hannah teamed with Kenan Barnes to finish as the runner-up No. 2 flight doubles team as Greenfield took third in the team standings.

An honor-roll student at Greenfield, Hannah is a member of Students Against Violence Everywhere (SAVE) and Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD). She also helped start the school’s 4-H chapter, of which she is the president.

Hannah is the president of New Hope 4-H and serves as vice president of the Wilson County 4-H Council. She is involved in showing cattle through 4-A.

She is the daughter of Charlotte and Dwayne Ferrell of Nash County.
