Thomas & Farris Student-Athlete of the Week: Joe Ronczka

Joe Ronczka literally was right in the middle of North Johnston High’s first-round state 2-A playoff win at Roanoke Rapids on Friday night, making him this week’s Thomas & Farris Student-Athlete of the Week.

Joe, a senior captain, started at offensive center and defensive tackle as the Panthers picked up their first win, by a 12-7 in four tries against their Northern Carolina Conference rivals.

Joe has a 4.52 weighted grade point average, tops in his class, at North Johnston where he serves as vice president of Student Government Association. He is also the president of the school chapter of National Honor Society and a member of the leadership team of Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

He hopes to attend N.C. State University and major in finance.

The son of Wendy and Jeff Ronczka, Joe attends Life Community Church in Clayton where he is active in the youth group, volunteering his time for such charitable organizations as Angel Food Ministries.
