Thomas & Farris Student-Athlete of the Week: T.J. Hinnant


T.J. Hinnant helped the Greenfield School varsity boys basketball team to three straight wins last week, making him the Thomas & Farris Student-Athlete of the Week.

T.J., a senior guard, averaged 7.6 points as the Knights, ranked No. 1 among N.C. Independent Schools Athletic Association 1-A teams, improved to 8-1 with wins over Rocky Mount Prep, Sanford Grace Christian and Raleigh Upper Room Christian.

On the season, T.J. is averaging 11 points, 4.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.0 steals per game.

T.J., who is an honor-roll student at Greenfield, is a member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes, National Honor Society, Students Against Destructive Decisions and Students Against Violence Everywhere. He has volunteered his time for such events as the Whirligig Festival in Wilson.

T.J. has played travel basketball for AAU teams Carolina Elite and Wilson Aggies.

The son of LaToya and Dalton Hinnant of Wilson, T.J. plans to major in business in college.
