Thomas & Farris Student-Athlete of the Week: Quanisha Brown
Quanisha Brown helped her Hunt High varsity girls basketball team break a a 27-year “curse” in the Farris & Farris Holiday Tournament last week, making her this week’s Thomas & Farris Student-Athlete of the Week.
Quanisha, a senior captain, had seven points, five steals and four rebounds in the Lady Warriors defeat of Beddingfield in the semifinals, then added five points and five rebounds as Hunt topped Fike to win its first Wilson holiday tournament title since 1984 and just the second in program history.
Quanisha holds a 3.60 weighted grade point average at Hunt, where she is a member of Student Government Association and the track and field team.
She hopes to attend East Carolina University where she plans to major in nursing.
Quanisha is a member of Greater Church of Love Ministry in Kenly, where she sings in the choir. She and her grandmother, Ella Brown, reside in Kenly.
