Senior Katharine Bailey sparkled in the pool for the Hunt High girls swim team last week at the 3-A Big East Conference championships, making her this week’s Thomas & Farris Attorneys Student-Athlete of the Week.

Katharine won the 500-yard freestyle, her first win in the event this season, and finished third in the 200 individual medley as well as swam on the Lady Warriors second-place 400 freestyle relay.

She ranked No. 4 in the senior class at Hunt and carries a 3.9 unweighted grade point average. At Hunt, Katharine is the president of the Model United Nations club. She plays alto sax for the Warriors marching band and is a member of the Spanish Club and the school’s chapter of National Honor Society.

The daughter of Phyllis Bidwell of Wilson, Katharine serves as a tutor at Hunt’s Writing Center as well as at Jones Elementary.
