Final 1st Friday of the year draws hundreds Saturday, October 04, 2008
The final concert of the monthly First Friday series attracted hundreds of people to the library lawn.
The Wilson Human Relations Commission, which sponsors the music and family-fun events, stacked the finale with a smorgasbord of musical acts, or, more appropriately, a jambalaya. Unknown Tongues opened with New Orleans-style Cajun music. They were followed by a demonstration by Raq Mundi, introduced as “the premier belly-dancing troupe of Wilson.” Megan’s Academy of Dance then entertained the crowd with a variety of dances to modern music. |
