Now Playing: Increase in storm preparation
Friday, September 05, 2008
Local stores are seeing increased traffic for items from water to generators, as some residents get ready for Hanna, and perhaps in a week Ike, to move through town.
Lowe's staff set up a display table this week for hurricane awareness, as the emergency officials started warning people to take steps to be ready for Tropical Storm Hanna.
Sales have been strong for hurricane items, such as bottled water, flashlights, size C and D batteries, tarps and rainsuits, said Linda Liles, operations manager for Lowe's.
