Patrick restaurant future plans Tuesday, December 16, 2008
KENLY – Dale Patrick Moore’s restaurant meant a lot to him. But it wasn’t until it burned down in August that he realized how much it meant to everyone else.
Moore, owner of Patrick’s on South Church Street, said that after a fire burned down the restaurant and longtime community institution on the night of Aug. 30, he received a constant stream of phone calls and visits from customers asking him when it would reopen. Moore said he is in the process of having Patrick’s rebuilt at the same location and hopes to open it again by next summer. Since the building Patrick’s was in is more than 50 years old, the restaurant is no longer in compliance with several codes and will have to be demolished and rebuilt. |
