John W. Jones Elementary School Tour Tuesday, December 09, 2008
Yellow walls with blue and green accent colors and wide open corridors filled with natural light greet visitors entering John W. Jones Elementary School.
The school under construction on N.C. 42 west of Wilson is the district’s largest elementary school. Only the district’s three high schools have larger facilities. Construction should be complete within the next few weeks, according to Russ Landen, assistant superintendent for administrative services. Landen led former and current members of the Wilson County Board of Education and senior administrators on their first tour of the new school earlier this week. A dedication ceremony will be held at some point before the school opens for students at the start of the 2009-2010 academic year. |
