Now Playing: Pep Rally get students jazzed
Saturday, August 30, 2008
This is the second year Vick Elementary has held a pep rally to get students jazzed up and excited about learning. The event featured members of Fike High School’s varsity football team, school leaders, representatives of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority and volunteers from the Hand-in-Hand ministry at First United Methodist Church speaking about the need for students to learn, to behave and to start preparing now for state-mandated End-of-Grade tests coming this spring. The pep rally also featured singing and tumbling demonstrations by students, an appearance by AJ Rightway, Wilson County Schools character education mascot, and music, all three of which got the crowd waving, clapping and stomping their feet.
