Body found on Green Pond Road Wednesday, July 30, 2008
The Wilson County Sheriff's Office is investigating the discovery of a body on Green Pond Road. Investigators received a call around 11 p.m. Tuesday that a passer-by discovered a body on the other side of the guardrail down a slight embankment. Major John Farmer said the body is that of a female. He declined to comment further, as the investigation was just getting underway. Farmer said detectives will remain on the scene through the night. Green Pond Road will be closed between U.S. 264 and Eatmon Road, which is just over the Wilson-Nash County line and will remain closed until the scene is cleared.
