CB Aycock runs into Fike
Saturday, September 20, 2008
WILSON -- The undefeated Fike High varsity football team shrugged off impressive starts to each half by visiting Charles B. Aycock to power to a 35-6 non-conference victory before an estimated turnout of 900 on a football-crisp Friday night. With 35 unanswered points, the Golden Demons of veteran head coach Richie Pridgen celebrated a 4-0 start for the first time since 2000.However, the loss proved doubly damaging for the Golden Falcons of the 3-A Eastern Carolina Conference. Coming off its only 2008 triumph, CBA plunged to 1-3 and, in the process, lost promising sophomore quarterback Craig Murdock to a shoulder injury in the second quarter.
