Beddingfield Bruins 1st Practice Sunday, August 03, 2008
Beddingfield began its practices at 6 p.m., drawing approximately 60 players for the JV and varsity teams. The Bruins spent most of the summer putting in 70 percent of the offense and defense, Johnson said. So Friday's focus was mainly on conditioning as players made countless runs up and down the practice field during the late-day heat. With 24 returnees, including 17 starters, from last year's 4-8 team that won a share of the 3-A Eastern Carolina Conference crown, Beddingfield looks to take another step this season.
