Now Playing: fike at southwest edgecombe Saturday, October 11, 2008 The Cougars won their 3-A NEW 6 Conference opener on Friday night over Fike for their fifth straight win since dropping the season opener to West Craven. Fike (5-2, 0-1 N6) shutout SouthWest Edgecombe (5-1,1-0 N6) in the first half as the Cougars were blanked at halftime for the first time this season. However, the dam burst in the second half when the Cougars scored three touchdowns on three drives.The final Cougars touchdown came with :13 seconds left in the game to put them ahead for good. The final score was 21-14.
