Demons stump South Granville in 3rd round Monday, May 19, 2008
Wilson -- In Fike's 3-A state playoff baseball game Saturday evening against South Granville, it wasn't about how the Golden Demons started but how they finished. Playing on its field, Fike rallied for two runs in the sixth inning for the 3-1 victory, making a winner out of senior right-hander Bentley Massey, who went the distance on the mound. The victory sends the Demons, now 21-4, to the N.C. High School Athletic Association Eastern semifinals for the second straight year. Fike will meet NEW 6 Conference rival Rocky Mount for the fourth time this season.
