Commisioners to meet Monday

Wilson County Planning Board members will discuss two items at 7:30 p.m. Monday in commissioners chambers at the Miller Road building.

Larry and Barbara Parrish are seeking a variance from the county zoning ordinance for one lot on a 30-foot easement.

The 3.63-acre lot is located on the north side of Fred Court just west of the intersection with Frank Price Church Road in Black Creek Township.

The variance, which would allow construction on the lot, will have to go before county commissioners for final approval.

Also at the meeting, landowners will ask for a rezoning of 0.08 acres in a 0.57 acre parcel at the intersection of Grover Lane, St. Rose Church Road and U.S. 264 Alt. West in Old Fields Township.

The request is to rezone the property from agriculture/residential to B-1 (highway business) to create a business service district between Wilson and Sims, according to planning department staff reports.

If the request is approved, it will have to go before county commissioners in August. A public hearing will be set a that time for the county commissioners’ September meeting.
