GOLDSBORO — Three people face attempted murder charges after sheriff’s deputies say the trio shot a man Monday during an attempted robbery in rural Wayne County.
Authorities found Alphonso Campbell suffering from multiple gunshot wounds at the Carraway Creek Estates off Genoa Road in the Dudley community south of Goldsboro. Campbell was taken to Wayne Memorial Hospital and transferred to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, where he was in stable but critical condition Monday.
Deputies stopped a car identified as the vehicle involved in the shooting and arrested 30-year-old Taylor Lawrence Davis of 103 S. Aycock St., Fremont; 30-year-old Kimberly Rose Pate of 305 Pate Farm Lane, Pikeville; and 38-year-old Jason Samuel Camaioni of 215 Wesley Drive, Goldsboro.
Capt. Shawn Harris of the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office said Davis, Pate and Camaioni were each charged with attempted first-degree murder and robbery with a dangerous weapon following an investigation.
Davis was booked into the Wayne County Detention Center under a $650,000 secured bond, while Pate and Camaioni were each jailed in lieu of a $350,000 secured bond.
