ZEBULON — Ryan Aguilar hit a three-run home run in the fourth inning, leading the Carolina Mudcats to a 7-6 win over the Fayetteville Woodpeckers on Tuesday. The win snapped a four-game losing streak for the Mudcats and a three-game winning streak for the Woodpeckers.

The home run by Aguilar scored Eddie Silva and Zach Clark to give the Mudcats a 6-3 lead.

The Mudcats tacked on another run in the fifth when Mario Feliciano hit a solo home run.

Fayetteville saw its comeback attempt come up short after Bryan De La Cruz and Corey Julks scored on an error and Jake Adams hit an RBI single in the ninth to cut the Carolina lead to 7-6.

Carolina right-hander Nelson Hernandez (2-0) picked up a quality start and the win after allowing three runs on six hits over six innings. Opposing starter Chad Donato (1-2) took the loss in the Carolina League game after a rough outing in which he allowed six runs and five hits over 3 2/3 innings.

Seth Beer doubled three times, driving home two runs for the Woodpeckers. Adams singled three times, driving home two runs.
