GOLDSBORO — The Barton College men’s golf “B” team fired a 55-over 631 to record a tie for ninth place at The Trojan on Monday afternoon at Walnut Creek Country Club.
Due to the threat of rain on Tuesday, the event was shortened to two rounds Monday.
Barton was paced by junior Nikolaj Dahl, who fired an 8-over 152. That was good enough to finish tied for ninth individually.
Scott Pechacek (157), Owen Dick (159), Tenzing Palden (163) and Michael Ford (172) rounded out Barton’s two-round scoring.
Newberry won the event with a 12-over 588, eight shots clear of host University of Mount Olive.
Ben Thompson of Newberry was the medalist, finishing with a 1-under 143 on the par-72, 7,021-yard layout.
The Bulldogs take part in the 2019 Conference Carolinas Championships beginning Sunday, April 14 at Cutter Creek Golf Club in Snow Hill. The three-round event runs through Tuesday, April 16.
