SARATOGA — Saratoga Original Free Will Baptist Church, 6801 N.C. 222 E., will have a spaghetti dinner fundraiser for Bella Duff 5-7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 25. Duff has been diagnosed with small-fiber neuropathy and needs to be treated at Johns Hopkins Children’s Hospital in Florida. The spaghetti dinner will assist the family with medical expenses. Town board reschedules meeting

SHARPSBURG — The Sharpsburg Board of Commissioners will hold its regular monthly meeting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 6 at Town Hall, 110 W. Railroad St. The meeting is open to the public and had previously been scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 4.

Barbecue plate sale fundraiser planned

ELM CITY — Refuge Trinity Holiness Church, 6108 Justin Trail, will have a barbecue plate sale from noon to 6:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 7. Plates will include pork barbecue, slaw, two vegetables, roll and dessert for $8 each. All proceeds will go to support the Rev. Sonny Griswold and his wife Hope on a mission trip to Africa. Dems plan Stanhope precinct meeting

Firefighters plan plate sale fundraiser

MIDDLESEX — The Middlesex Volunteer Fire Department will hold its annual chicken and barbecue plate sale fundraiser on Saturday, Sept. 8 at the firehouse on Finch Avenue. Food will be available at 11 a.m. and offered until 5 p.m. or until sold out.

Barbecue chicken and pork barbecue plates will be sold for $8 each. Middlesex firefighters are also selling $100 raffle tickets for a chance to win $10,000.
