Brewer sets the pace at WLL golf outing

The Wilson Country Club trio of Priscilla Brewer, Debbie Keely and Barbara Biddle claimed low net honors in the three flights in the August golf outing of the Wilson Ladies League on Tuesday at Wedgewood Public Golf Course.

Brewer set the net pace in the first flight with a 4-under-par 68. Carding low gross with an 84 was Debbie Webb of Northgreen Golf Club. Sue McGuire of Willow Springs Country Club was the low putts winner with 30.

Keely, with a 69, prevailed in the net competition in the second flight. The flight also produced the day’s low gross round; Melba Martin of WCC posted an 83. Taking low putts was Vickie Leggett of Wedgewood with 32.

Biddle fashioned a 72 to win low net in the third flight. Turning in the flight’s low gross score was Nan Bissette of Wedgewood with a 92. Lois Edwards of Willow Springs emerged the low putts winner with 34.

The league’s September outing is scheduled for Sept. 3 at Willow Springs. Telephone Cathy Causway at 252 291-2430 to register. Women golfers in Wilson County are eligible to participate and a course affiliation is not
necessary.
