A popular fundraiser returns this month at the Boykin Center.
Miniature Masterpieces is Feb. 28 at 7:30 p.m. Ticket-holders will walk away with an original 8X8-inch painting donated by local and regional artists.
On the night of the event, ticket-holders draw a number out of a hat.
The number corresponds with a painting. Once the number is drawn, the ticket-holder locates his painting on the gallery wall.
Those attending trade paintings sometimes, but not often.
The subject of the paintings varies from landscapes and still life to animals.
The ticket price of $50 per person also includes a festive evening of heavy hors d’oeuvres, desserts and lively libations. Framing for the paintings will be available on site as well for an additional fee.
This is a highly anticipated annual event with a limited number of paintings; only 110 tickets will be sold.
Call 252-291-4329 to reserve your space or stop by the Boykin Center during regular business hours, Tuesday-Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Proceeds go toward enhancing the Arts Council of Wilson’s visual arts programming, including classes for adults and youth.
Inclement weather date is March 5.
