CCS dumps Crossroads 57-45

Led by the 23 points of junior D.J. Atkinson, the Community Christian School varsity boys basketball team placed three players in double-figure scoring Thursday night in a 57-45 win over Henderson Crossroads Christian at Barney Williamson Gym.

CCS (7-3) of the split 1-A/2-A Coastal Plain Independents Conference won its third straight game. Rieshod Baines, a junior, tossed in 16 points with junior Dominique Evans adding 10.

Taige Bridgers had eight rebounds for the Cyclones.

CCS will take part in the North Hills Basketball Tournament in Salisbury beginning Thursday, Dec. 28. The Cyclones will open against Woodlawn School of Mooresville.
