Wilson Chapel Church, 513 E. Barnes St., will have a health and wellness expo from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28 with health screenings, nurses available to answer any health questions, aerobics, counseling, raffles and refreshments.
Hotel hosting Halloween reception
Comfort Suites of Wilson at I-95 is hosting a Halloween reception from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 31 with beer, wine, soft drinks and heavy hors d’oeuvres being served. This will be a kid-friendly event with adult and children’s costume contests. The children’s costume winner will receive a $25 gift card and the adult winner will receive a $50 gift card.
Church to hold yard sale fundraiser
A yard sale will be held 8 a.m. - 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 4 at St. Mark Episcopal Church, 106 S. Reid St. Vendors are invited to rent space. Proceeds from the sale will benefit St. Augustine University and its choir. Interested groups and individuals can call 252-237-0549 or stop by St. Mark’s House.
Gospel choir concert slated
The St. Augustine University Gospel Choir will be in concert at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 5 at St. Mark Episcopal Church, 106 S. Reid St.
Genealogical society to meet
The Wilson County Genealogical Society will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 31 in the Wilson County Public Library assembly room.
Farm Bureau plans annual meeting
The Wilson County Farm Bureau will hold its annual meeting at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 6 at the Farm Bureau office located at 2853 Wooten Blvd. SW. All members are encouraged to attend. Refreshments will be served and door prizes given.
Church to host Operation Christmas Child program
Dania Yadago, an Operation Christmas Child shoebox recipient, will be at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church located at 5142 N.C. 58 N., on Wednesday, Nov. 8 with fellowship and refreshments at 8 a.m. and a presentation on Operation Christmas Child from 8:30 - 9:30 a.m.
