Church plans yard sale fundraiser

St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 1008 E. Nash St., will host a yard sale fundraiser with proceeds going to the Raleigh-based St. Augustine’s University School and Choir. The yard sale will be held from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 3 and Saturday, Nov. 4.

Power outage slated in Fremont

FREMONT — Town electric customers will experience an interruption in service from 11 p.m. Friday, Nov. 3 to 5 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 4 due to scheduled maintenance to be performed by Duke Energy Progress, according to Fremont town officials.

Additional law enforcement officers will be on duty during the six-hour service outage. For more information, residents can call Fremont Town Hall at 919-242-5151.

Church holding harvest day

SARATOGA — Saratoga Free Will Baptist Church, 6803 N.C. 222, Stantonsburg, will have a harvest day Saturday, Nov. 4 in the Yates Family Life Center with apple jacks on sale from 8 to 11 a.m., barbecue chicken plates on sale from 4:30 - 6 p.m. and an auction beginning at 6.

Gospel choir concert scheduled

The St. Augustine’s University Gospel Choir will be in concert at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 5 at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 106 S. Reid St. All are welcome.

Silent art auction planned

Pennies From Angels will have a silent auction sale featuring local artists from 5:30 - 8:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 10 at Wilson Praise and Worship Gym, 202 Nash St.

Aquathon slated Nov. 11

The Wilson Recreation Aquatics Department will be participating in the fifth annual worldwide aquathon on Saturday, Nov. 11 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Recreation Park Pool located at 500 Sunset Road.

There will be three classes with each class lasting one hour and three instructors. The cost is $3 and one canned food item to be donated to the Hope Station. For more information, call 252-399-2269.

Diabetes group plans cooking demo

The Wilson County Diabetes Education and Support Group will meet 6 - 7:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 13 at Wilson Medical Center’s Cardiac Rehabilitation Center for a holiday cooking demonstration.
