Town plans closed-session meeting
MIDDLESEX — The Middlesex Board of Commissioners will hold a special meeting at 2 p.m. Friday, April 27. Commissioners will go into closed session as permitted by state law to discuss employee performance and salary.
Homebuyers’ workshop scheduled

Memorial golf tourney set May 2

Beekeepers’ club plans meeting
Area residents who are interested in bees, already have bees or are interested in joining a local beekeepers club are invited to a meeting at 7 p.m. May 3 at the Wilson County Agriculture Center, 1806 Goldsboro St. SW. Membership annual dues will be $15 for individuals and $20 for families. Refreshments will be served at 6:30 p.m.
Maggie Society to hold ‘Cinco de Barko’
The Maggie Society will hold Cinco de Barko from 4- 7 p.m. Saturday, May 5 with special guest Steve Hardy’s Original Beach Party. The fundraiser for the animal rescue group will feature face-painting, adoptable dogs, food trucks, Maggie gear, “pawtraits” and more.
Advance tickets are $10 and admission at the door is $15 with kids 10 and under in free. Tickets may be purchased at Joyner Chiropractic, Thomas Drug Store, The Nook, World of RC and Supreme Pools.
