Darden Alumni Center hosting concert
Johnny Leak and Johnnie Yelverton will sponsor a musical program beginning at 5 p.m. Sunday, July 14 at the Darden Alumi Center, 1600 Lipscomb Road. Doors open at 4 p.m. and food will be available for sale.
Featured performers are Seek and Find of Washington, D.C., Johnnie Yelverton of Wilson, Jay Legacy of South Carolina, C.J. and Men of Fellowship of Saratoga, Truth of Zebulon, James Barrett of Greenville, Silver Stars of Cove City and Mary Sherrod of Wilson.

Conservative men’s breakfast planned
A conservative men’s breakfast will be held at 6:45 a.m. Wednesday, July 17 at Tabernacle Baptist Church, 1815 Airport Blvd. W. There is no charge to attend, but donations for the Wilson-based Republican Museum of North Carolina will be accepted.

Mayoral candidate holding campaign dinner
The committee to elect Carlton Stevens Jr. for mayor will have a One Wilson campaign dinner at 5 p.m. Saturday, July 20 at the Wilson County Agricultural Center, 1806 Goldsboro St. Business casual dress is requested.

Church offers vegetarian, vegan cooking classes
Free vegetarian and vegan cooking classes will be offered from 5-8 p.m. Sunday, July 21 through Wednesday, July 24 at Mount Hebron Church, 700 S. Pender St. These classes will offer complete hands-on cooking classes with a facilitator and recipes.
