Comic to perform at Peace Church

Christian comedian Brad Stine will perform from 7 - 9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 10 at Peace Church, 2838 Tilghman Road N. Tickets are available online at www.eventbrite.com. Proceeds will benefit the Wilson Pregnancy Center.

Miss Bailey to be crowned at Southern Nash

Church to hold harvest day

LA GRANGE — St. Mary Free Will Baptist Church, 311 Arba Jason Road, will hold its harvest day from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 11 with food, games, music, trunk-or-treat and a silent auction. Hot dog meals with chips and soft drink will be available for $3 each.


K&W offering free meals for vets

K&W Cafeteria, 1501 Ward Blvd., will celebrate Veterans Day on Saturday, Nov. 11 by thanking veterans and active-duty military personnel with a free meal that includes choice of entree, two vegetables, bread and beverage.

Military ID and proof of military service will be required. This offer will be extended to dine-in or take-out customers from 11 a.m. to closing.

Garden club schedules auction

SARATOGA — The Saratoga Garden Club will have an auction beginning at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 15 at the old fire station at the corner of Main Street and N.C. 222, Saratoga.

Up for auction will include holiday crafts and decorations, baked goods and gift items. Door prizes will be given. For more information, call Martha Cayton at 252-290-1368.

Church hosting Christmas vendor fair

A holiday vendor event is planned from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 18 at Shiloh Pentecostal Holiness Church, 5843 Shiloh Church Road.

Breakfast, bake sale scheduled

BAILEY — Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church, 6048 Mount Pleasant Road, will have a breakfast and bake sale 7 - 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 18.

Church plans harvest day sale

ELM CITY — Temperance Hall United Methodist Church, 3834 Temperance Hall Road, will have a harvest day sale and supper with barbecue and Brunswick stew supper served 4 - 7 p.m., eat-in or take-out.

‘Players Ball’ planned at alumni center

The Pride of Wilson Post No. 484 will host a players ball 9 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 25 to 1 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 26 at the Darden Alumni Center, 1600 Lipscomb Road.

DJ Meatball and DJ Heavy will be playing “oldies but goodies.” Donations are $15; no tickets will be sold. Attendees are encouraged to dress to impress and $50 cash prizes will be given for the best-dressed man and woman.
