SHARPSBURG — The Sharpsburg Board of Commissioners will hold its regular monthly meeting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 6 at Town Hall, 110 W. Railroad St. The meeting is open to the public.
Barbecue plate sale fundraiser planned
ELM CITY — Refuge Trinity Holiness Church, 6108 Justin Trail, will have a barbecue plate sale from noon to 6:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 7. Plates will include pork barbecue, slaw, two vegetables, roll and dessert for $8 each. All proceeds will go to support the Rev. Sonny Griswold and his wife Hope on a mission trip to Africa. Firefighters plan plate sale fundraiser
MIDDLESEX — The Middlesex Volunteer Fire Department will hold its annual chicken and barbecue plate sale fundraiser on Saturday, Sept. 8 at the firehouse on Finch Avenue. Food will be available at 11 a.m. and offered until 5 p.m. or until sold out.
Barbecue chicken and pork barbecue plates will be sold for $8 each. Middlesex firefighters are also selling $100 raffle tickets for a chance to win $10,000.
OIC plans food distribution
The Opportunities Industrialization Center of Wilson will hold its quarterly food distribution beginning from 8 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Sept. 26 at 801 Reid St. Food will be available for qualified applicants who have fixed incomes, receive public assistance and are Wilson County residents.
