Darden Alumni Center hosting fundraiser

A Western Slide dance party fundraiser will be held from 10 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27 to 2 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 28 at the Darden Alumni Center, 1600 Lipscomb Road.

Church to host fall festival

SARATOGA — Saratoga Original Free Will Baptist Church, 6801 N.C. 222 E., will have a fall festival 6 - 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31 with trick-or-treating, bingo, cake walk, hot dogs and more. Admission is free for all ages. For more information, call Elaine Reddick at 252-245-0994.

Church to hold family conference

MIDDLESEX — “It Takes a Village,” a free family conference with sessions for adults and teens, is planned from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3 at Middlesex Elementary School, 13081 W. Hanes Ave. Topics include finances and relationships. Teens will have a barbershop talk and a girl talk along with age-appropriate activities.

Wrestling night supports animal rescue

A Live Championship Wrestling show is planned at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3 at the Wilson Moose Lodge, 2705 Forest Hills Road SW, as a fundraiser for local nonprofit For the Love of Dogs.

The pro wrestling event features Ricky Morton, a WWE Hall of Famer who performed as part of the Rock ‘n’ Roll Express tag team. Other LCW wrestlers include Jimmy Jack Funk Jr. with Marc Ashe vs Damien Wayne, Nemesis, the Mid-Atlantic Outlaws, Seymour Snott, Mason Myles, Redman and The Gorilla Squad.

Farm bureau plans annual meeting

The Wilson County Farm Bureau will hold its annual meeting at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 5 at the Farm Bureau office located at 2853 Wooten Blvd. All members are encouraged to attend. Refreshments will be served and door prizes given.

Breastfeeding group to meet

The Wilson County Health Department will host a breastfeeding support group meeting at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6 at the Wilson County Library, 249 Nash St.

Brian Center, hospice agency seek volunteers

The Brian Center Health and Rehabilitation of Wilson, 2501 Downing St., is looking for volunteers to conduct one-on-one activities such as bingo, church services, games and exercises between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.
