Family affair

Charlie Riddle, not Danny Riddle, is the head coach of the Union Grove Christian softball team that finished the runner-up to Wilson Christian Academy in the North Carolina Christian School Association 2-A Championship last weekend.

Tournament reports appearing in The Wilson Times sports section on Monday and Tuesday identified Danny Riddle as the head coach.

Charlie Riddle is Danny’s son and Danny Riddle is Charlie’s assistant.

The Times regrets the error.

Panthers pitching change

In Wednesday’s edition of The Wilson Times, it was reported that North Johnston pitcher Dylan Radford pitched the distance in Tuesday’s 5-1 loss to Randleman in the third round of the North Carolina High School Athletic Association 2-A playoffs.

However, the Panthers made a pitching change in the sixth inning to Steven Worley, who struck out three and didn’t allow a hit over the final two innings.

The Times regrets the error.
