CHARLESTON, S.C. — Daniel Burnett Tetterton, 59, of 49 Crosscreek Drive, died Aug. 5, 2018 at his residence.
He was born Dec. 8, 1958 in Greenville, to the late Alfred Perry Tetterton, of the same city, and Edna Brown Peavey of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina.
Survivors include his mother; brothers, Alfred Perry Tetterton of Greenville and Jonathan Bracket Hurlin Peavey of Mount Pleasant; sisters-in-law; nephews; and close friend, Marilyn Johnston of his home.
Mr. Tetterton was educated in the public schools of Greenville. He was graduated from J. H. Rose High of that city. Like his father, he was a Master Mason.
At the time of his death, the Country Club of Charleston employed Mr. Tetterton. Previous employers included the Wilson Country Club. After living in Wilson for many years, he lived in West Ashley for several years. Then he lived and worked in New York City briefly before returning to Wilson in 2007. In 2013, after living in Toronto, Ontario, he moved to James Island where he was determined to spend the rest of his life. He found great peace and pleasure sitting on the sand at Folly Beach.
McAlister-Smith Funeral and Cremation will conduct funeral services. Attendance will be limited to Ms. Johnston and Mr. Tetterton’s relatives. Following the services on Saturday, Aug. 11, relatives will be received at Mrs. Peavey’s home in Mount Pleasant.
