Would you like to learn the basics of cooking or how to refresh your skills while learning healthier ways to cook?

Cook Smart, Eat Smart is a four-session cooking school that will teach participants the basic techniques to prepare healthy meals for the family and smart shopping tips and tricks.

This cooking school will be capped at 15 participants. Participants will learn how to make healthy decisions for their families when making food choices, portion control, knife skills, how to build the perfect pantry, finding the best buy and more.

The cooking school will meet at 5:30 p.m. on Feb. 5, 12, 19 and 26 for a four-week series held at the Wilson County Agricultural Center. Each week, there will be a brief educational presentation followed by hands-on learning in the kitchen concluding with tastings of your culinary creations.

The registration fee for this four-week cooking school is $20 per participant and includes tuition, tastings, weekly recipes and a cookbook.

To register, email Cassidy Hall at cdhobbs3@ncsu.edu and mail or drop off the $20 registration fee to the Wilson County Agricultural Center, 1806 Goldsboro St SW, Wilson, NC 27893 by Feb 1. Checks and money orders may be made payable to Wilson Agricultural Center.

This cooking school will be offered by Cassidy Hall, the Wilson County Cooperative Extension’s family and consumer sciences agent.
