Access East and its certified health insurance marketplace navigators are holding free Affordable Care Act enrollment events today in Rocky Mount and Saturday in Greenville and New Bern.

The deadline to enroll in an ACA insurance policy on the federal insurance marketplace is Dec. 15.

Access East navigators will be available to help consumers choose the best and most cost-effective health insurance plans for themselves and their families in 2018 and determine if financial assistance is available to help pay for ACA coverage.

More than 90 percent of North Carolinians who have signed up for ACA plans have received financial assistance, according to Access East.

Enrollment events will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. today at the Braswell Memorial Library, 727 N. Grace St., Rocky Mount; 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at Access East in Greenville’s Stanton Square Shopping Center; and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Craven County Public Library, 400 Johnson St. in New Bern.

Consumers are asked to bring their Social Security numbers or document numbers for legal immigrants, employers’ names and phone numbers, income information for every household member who is working or who has income and needs coverage and policy numbers for current health insurance plans covering all household members.

Those who need assistance to sign up for the Affordable Care Act and are unable to attend an enrollment event can set up a free appointment with an ACA navigator by calling 252-847-3027 or 1-855-733-3711 or scheduling online at www.ncnavigator.net.

Consumers can also make a walk-in visit to Access East at Stanton Square in Greenville.
