Kudos to Sen. Rick Horner, R-Nash, and our own County Manager Denise Stinagle and commissioners to work with Senator Horner in getting the state legislature to appropriate $200,000 in the state budget to accelerate the construction of the new animal shelter in Wilson.
It takes an “outsider” of Wilson knowing right from wrong to say “I’m really tired of hearing about it — build the thing” and “That really matters to a lot of people there.” Well, Senator, you have my vote — if I could still vote for you.
In your tenure as senator, you have helped Wilson on the educational front, now the animal shelter and other matters that carried your vote to make Wilson a better place. I know Nash County is proud of you as I know Wilson is. Godspeed and thank you for your service and your family’s sacrifices to have you serve representing the people you love.
