Jane (Talarski) Michalak, 94, of Wilson, passed away peacefully Sunday morning Sept. 1st at Wilson Medical Center. She was born on April 17, 1925. in Hartford, Connecticut, daughter of the late Peter Talarski and Tekla Blogoslawski.
She was married to Chester Michalak on May 5, 1951. Chester was her devoted husband, loving caretaker, dance partner and protector until his death in November 2018. Together they raised their family and spent their lives in Newington, Connecticut. Jane loved her family and friends and had a special compassion for all living things. Her greatest pleasure was her children and grandchildren. She will be remembered for her kindness, fun loving adventurous spirit, flare for fashion and generosity. She enjoyed working for her father’s business as a book keeper at the Maple Hill Ambulance Company for 30 years.
She is survived by her two children, Dr. Daniel Michalak and wife Paula Michalak of Wilson and Patricia Michalak and her husband Robert Kremer, of Storrs, Connecticut; six grandchildren, Daniel Michalak, Kristin Kremer, John Michalak, Andrea Michalak Strickland, Lauren Kremer and Suzanne Michalak; and seven great-grandchildren; sister, Irene Ident of Wethersfield, Connecticut; and numerous nieces and nephews. She also leaves a very special friend, Carolyn Barfield, who was an exceptional, loving, caregiver for four years while Jane resided in Wilson.
A special thank you to the staff at Spring Arbor and Wilson Pines for their constant care and compassion. The family will have a celebration of Jane’s life in Connecticut in October.
