Janice “Happy” Boykin Flowers, 85, of Wilson, passed away Wednesday. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, June 3, at Thomas-Yelverton Funeral Home, Wilson, with Pastor Lavon Phillips officiating. Interment will follow in Maplewood Cemetery, Wilson.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home located at 2704 Nash St. N., Wilson.
Janice worked as a pediatric registered nurse for more than 32 years. She loved to crochet, visit friends, work in her flower garden, spend time with her family and worship at Farmington Heights Church. Janice was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
Surviving are her son, Cecil Donald Flowers, and wife, Tracey W. Flowers, of Zebulon; three grandchildren, Cecil D. Flowers II, and wife, Amanda, of Zebulon, Christopher D. Flowers, and girlfriend, Hayley Wynn, of Norman, Oklahoma, and Christina D. Flowers of Zebulon; and two great-grandchildren, Ayden G. Flowers and Aaron C. Flowers.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Glenwood Flowers; and her parents, Settles and Ellie Farr Boykin.
Flowers are welcome and memorials may be directed to the Adult Seniors Group at Farmington Heights Church, 910 Raleigh Road Parkway W., Wilson, NC 27896.
