JACKSONVILLE — Joseph E. Cooke, 87, died Friday, June 28, 2019.

Funeral will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Stantonsburg Cemetery.

Surviving are his brother, James H. Cooke of Wilson; sisters, Barbara Tripp of Greenville and Hettie Curry of Thomasville; and several nieces and nephews.

He was a carpenter, served in the U.S. Army, enjoyed the guitar and tinkering on car.
