6-0 Lady Falcons pitch first-half shutout

PIKEVILLE —  The Charles B. Aycock High girls basketball team pitched a first-half shutout in proceeding to a 24-15 victory against visiting Fike on Wednesday night.

The Lady Golden Falcons stretched their unbeaten start to the season to six games and, in eight of the 24 quarters, have held the opposition scoreless.

Laci Best’s eight points led the CBA scoring, while McKenzie Millard and Camryn Ryan scored four each.

Final quarter sinks CBA in 44-35 loss

PIKEVILLE — The host Charles B. Aycock High boys basketball team played Fike even for three quarters before dropping a 44-35 decision Wednesday night.

With the score knotted 30-30 after three quarters, the Golden Falcons were outscored 14-5 in the final quarter.

Pacing the CBA scoring were Daqwan Meadows with 10 points and Connor Batts with nine.
