SNOW HILL — Mrs. Kattie Carter Harrell, 78, died Monday, Sept. 10, 2018.
Born April 17, 1940, she was the daughter of Isabell C. Carter. She was a member of Harrell’s Chapel Free Will Baptist Church, a talented seamstress and a devoted mother and grandmother. Declining health forced her into a skilled nursing environment at Greendale Forest in Snow Hill where she quickly formed many special friendships.
Mrs. Harrell was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Lee Harrell; a son, Clifton Harrell; and siblings, Lloyd Carter and Joyce Bailey.
Her surviving family includes her children, Kathy Harrell Pridgen (Dale) of Snow Hill, Steve Harrell (Kimbrali) of Stantonsburg, Donna Faircloth (Tony) of LaGrange and Lee Harrell of Greenville; sister, Margaret C. Harrell of Bailey; grandchildren, Dorothy Moore (Chad), Jason Pridgen, Rachel H. Bowes (Thomas) and Elizabeth H. Jasso; and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 12, at the Chapel of Taylor-Tyson Funeral Service. Interment will immediately follow at the Snow Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends 10 to 10:45 a.m. Wednesday, prior to the service, and other times at the home of Dale and Kathy Pridgen.
