Barton College completed a perfect weekend with a second sweep in as many as days of an NCAA Division II Conference Carolinas visiting women’s volleyball team on Saturday.

The Lady Bulldogs, who blanked Converse College 3-0 on Friday, handed Limestone the same result Saturday afternoon in Wilson Gym. Barton, now 6-6 overall and 2-0 in conference play, overcame an early deficit to win the first set 26-24 before finishing off the Saints, winless in all six of their matches, 25-18, 25-12. The Lady Bulldogs didn’t trail in either of the last two games.

Freshman Katylin Elkins again led Barton with 16 kills while senior Miranda Miller contributed seven kills, six digs and five service aces. Junior Riley Bane led BC with 14 digs while freshman Ashley Owen served four aces to boost her conference-leading season total to 26.

Barton, winner of three straight, continues its homestand Friday and Saturday with matches against Conference Carolinas visitors North Greenville University and Southern Wesleyan University.
